4 Strange Beauty Tricks That Actually Work
September 8, 2022
Sometimes your beauty routine just doesn’t cut it. Maybe your skin looks tired, ruddy or somehow not up to par or maybe you’ve got a beauty issue that needs to be resolved. That’s when a good old fashioned weird beauty trick comes in handy. Whether you’re trying to beat the bloat or you’re in the market for a quick anti-aging trick, here are a few ideas to consider:
1. Coconut oil - Coconut oil is all the rage right now and with good reason, it’s great for your skin and hair as it has so many handy uses. Coconut oil is great to use as a body lotion too, especially on severely dry skin. Just don’t apply too much or it becomes an oily mess. You can always add a small amount to your existing body lotion. It’s also a great eye makeup remover, especially for that stubborn eyeliner or mascara that takes forever to come off and makes you look like you have cat eyes.
2. Black tea - Black tea is a natural astringent that works wonders on your skin. Brew a tea bag and then refrigerate until completely cooled. Splash tea water on your face and don’t rinse off. Instead, pat dry. Black tea is a great home remedy to make your skin look young and vibrant. Green tea extract is another great remedy, found in topical creams and used to reduce facial redness.
3. Apple cider vinegar - Apple cider vinegar is a great way to beat the bloat that can show up in your face without warning. Mix 1 tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar with 4 ounces of water, keep it in a glass jar. Soak a cotton ball and apply it to your skin letting it dry for about 10 minutes, wash off with warm water. Continue each day until you feel your bloat diminishing. With anti-microbial properties you can also add a splash to your bath to ease skin infections and soothe irritations.
4. Dry brushing - Dry brushing is an age old tool to counter cellulite. Start at the ankles and using a natural bristled brush, begin to work from the ankles up the legs in short strokes while going slowly and lightly up your body. Don't like the hard bristles of a dry brush, try an exfoliating body soap and luffa sponge. Both methods help exfoliate your skin and increase blood flow and circulation ridding dry skin cells, toxins and helping to break down cellulite.
