An extract is made by extracting part of the raw material and as a result, extracts are often a more concentrated part of the whole. Extracts can be made from all sorts of ingredients like almond, vanilla, peppermint, ginger, and lemon and some can be beneficial to your skin. Not sure what ingredients may be effective in your favorite topical treatments? These natural extracts pack a powerful punch. Look for skincare products that contain these ingredients but be careful when applying the extracts directly as they are highly concentrated. Let’s take a closer look. 1. It soothes and moisturizes under the eyes when under eye circles make you look less than vibrant. 2. Tea tree oil extract Tea tree oil extract is a great ingredient in a cleanser because it opens clogged pores and removes bacteria from the skin’s surface, reducing acne or otherwise irritated skin. 3. Pine bark extract Pine bark extract has gained popularity as a dietary supplement for the skin. But it’s also used as a topical ingredient in facial moisturizers. One study found that pine bark extract decreased sun damage including hyperpigmentation and age spots when taken orally over a 12 week period. 4.
