We all go through periods of dull skin. The winter time can be particularly harsh because your skin can be pale and dry with patches of redness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. You can take steps to make your skin radiant. Here’s how to make your skin glow from the inside out. 1. Wear SPF year round. The sun can peak through even when it’s cold outside so it’s important to wear sunblock throughout the year, especially on your face. The easiest way to do that is to buy a high quality facial moisturizer with built in SPF and wear it year round. Additionally, wear SPF when you’re participating in winter fun like skiing, snowboarding, or just making a snowman outside. 2. Try a mask. If your skin looks like it needs a boost, try a mask to liven things up a bit. Wanna look great in the New Year? This mask is it. Combine 3/4 tsp. French green clay to absorb oils and impurities that sit on the skin as well as 3/4 tsp. crushed almonds and 1/4 tsp. baking soda to exfoliate your skin. 3. Don’t over wash. Over washing dries out your skin, which is especially bad in the winter time. Wash your face once per day and moisturize it directly afterward. 4. Eat right. Eat to brighten up your skin. Choose foods with tons of vitamin E, vitamin C, and healthy fats like avocado, almonds, leafy greens, red peppers, and citrus fruits. Stay hydrated and cut out the booze and caffeine. 5. Use coconut oil. Coconut oil is the ideal ingredient year round, but especially in the winter time. Use it as a moisturizer after you bathe or spread it evenly all over your skin before you bathe to create a barrier so your skin doesn’t dry out.
