Building a Perfect Skincare Routine

Taking good care of your skin is all about a routine. Daily maintenance is the key and it’s a commitment worth making. The better daily care you take of your skin, the more likely you’ll be to stave off those pesky fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. Here’s a great daily skincare routine to live by:
1. Cleanse daily. If you have dry skin, you may only need to cleanse once per day. But those with oily and combination skin should consider cleansing in the morning and evening. Never go to bed with makeup and grime leftover from the day. Choose a gentle cleanser that works well with your skin type.
2. Moisturize. Use two different moisturizers: one for the day that includes daily SPF and a thicker moisturizer, or even a facial oil, for the nighttime. Moisturized skin looks younger and is less likely to show wrinkles.
3. Apply sunscreen. Sun is the fastest way to age your skin so make sure you wear sunscreen each and everyday. If you’re going to be out in the sun for 10 minutes or less -- for example when you’re running errands -- a moisturizer with a built-in sunscreen will suffice. But if you’re going on a long walk or hitting the beach, it’s best to wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
4. Choose a day a week for some extra beauty care. Apply a facial mask once per week. Choose a mask made with natural ingredients. If you have extra dry skin, choose a deep moisturizing mask or if you have oily skin, choose a balancing facial mask to reduce oil build up. Use an exfoliating cleanser once a week to remove dry skin cells or try a face massage with facial tools such as a roller or gua sha stone. Pampering your skin weekly is a great way to unwind and dedicated some time to take care of yourself.
Taking care of your skin is a daily process, but healthy skin helps you to look and feel your best. Take time each week to check-in with your skincare routine, and make sure your supplied with everything you need.
