The outdoor cold, windy weather in the wintertime can be hard on your skin and sometimes it can feel a losing battle. Your skin can often feel red, irritated and raw. And while you’re trying to warm up inside whether sitting by a nice woodburning fire or taking a hot shower, that too can affect your skin by stripping your skin of moisture and drying it out.
Keep your skin supple and moist all season long by incorporating these skincare essentials into your skincare routine.
Moisturize, Moisturize and Moisturize – Hand washing and using hand sanitizers are recommended and important to use to combat colds, flu and COVID-19. Your hands can really feel the effects of constant washing. Make sure each time to apply hand cream after washing or using sanitizers.
Your body can also feel the effects of winter’s weather. Don’t forget to use a thick and hydrating body cream/lotion especially after showering or bathing.
Use Sunscreen Often - Did you know that the sun’s rays can reflect off the snow on bright sunny winter days? Sunburn, wrinkles and darkspots can still affect your skin while participating in outdoor winter activities. Make sure to use a daily moisturizer with SPF for the face and any exposed skin.
Use Warm Water Instead – Lower the water temperature of your showers and while washing your hands. It’s recommended to take quick showers too in the wintertime. To avoid drying out your skin too much, A 5-minute warm bath or shower is suggested.
Stock your cabinets with first-aid skincare products - Rather than waiting to shop when a family member needs it, make sure you’re stocked with all our Zax’s Original First Aid Products. It’s better to have the most effective remedies already on hand.
